“CNS Executives Visit Dhan Prasad Thakali at 17 Sagewood Place, Colchester, Sunday, 1 February”

Dhan Prasad Thakali had planned to return permanently to Nepal towards the end of last year. Sadly, a day before his scheduled departure, he suffered a stroke. He was immediately admitted to Colchester General Hospital, where, thanks to the dedicated care and professionalism of doctors and nurses, he began his recovery.

Following a lengthy hospital stay, he was transferred to a care home in Harwich for rehabilitation, where he continued to make steady progress. Very recently, he moved back into his own flat at 17 Sagewood Place when it became available.

When the CNS Executive team visited him at around 4:30 pm yesterday, he was being lovingly cared for by his wife, Mrs Asha Kumari Thakali. Despite being elderly and frail herself, she remains deeply committed to his wellbeing. She informed us that Dhan Prasad is receiving NHS care and rehabilitation four times a day and continues to show encouraging improvement. He recognised us, spoke, and appeared in good spirits. We are confident that he will continue to recover well.

The Chair briefly spoke about the significant progress Dhan Prasad has made so far and expressed confidence that, with continued support, he will regain greater independence and be able to walk without assistance.

On behalf of CNS, the Chair invited the Vice Chair to present him with flowers, a get-well-soon card, and a traditional Rupa, which shows the restoration of strength and spirit following his illness.

After spending around an hour with Dhan Prasad and Mrs Thakali, the CNS Executive team departed and returned to their respective residences.

The CNS Executive team present comprised the Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, and Advisor, Umesh Kumar Pun, MVO.

We extend our very best wishes to Dhan Prasad Thakali for a full and speedy recovery and continued good health.
