A small farewell gathering was organised on Friday, 6 March 2026, at 12:10 after the English class to thank and bid farewell to Ronal Chaudhary, who has been teaching basic English to our veterans and their spouses. The classes have been organised by the Colchester Nepalese Society and supported through funding from the National Lottery Community Fund.
Ronal has been teaching English every Wednesday and Friday since March 2025, generously giving his time during breaks from his studies at the University of Essex, where he completed a Master’s degree in Data Science with merit.
Over the past year, he has shown great patience and dedication in supporting our veterans and their spouses in improving their English language skills. During this period, we have seen encouraging progress. Many of the veterans’ wives are now learning new vocabulary, understanding how to construct sentences, and gaining confidence in using English in everyday conversations. This progress is particularly meaningful, as some of the learners had never attended school. Seeing their growing confidence and ability to communicate has been truly inspiring.
Before refreshments were served, the Chair spoke about Ronal’s dedication and thanked him for his hard work and commitment throughout the year. Ronal has found a Data Specialist/Engineer in Migration at Royal Guildford Grammar School, Guildford (RGSG). The Chair warmly congratulated him, noting that securing such a role reflects both his professional capabilities and his strong command of English.
As a gesture of appreciation, the Chair presented Ronal with a traditional shawl, and the students presented him with a card and flowers, wishing him well. The Chair also welcomed his successor, Miss Stuti Aryal, a second-year student at the University of Essex.
After light refreshments provided by the students, we wished Ronal every success in his future career and hope to welcome him back to Colchester again.
