Visit to Mrs Sun Devi Gurung Following Her Mini-Stroke - Sunday 14 June

A visit was organised by Mrs Laxmi Gurung, Area Rep Stanway, to 17 Rye Close to see Mrs Sun Devi Gurung, mother of Mr Naina Sing Gurung, who had suffered a mini-stroke some time ago. For various reasons, we had been unable to visit her at home until today. The committee members present were the Chair, Vice Chair, Advisors, Umesh Kumar Pun MVO, Mr Kiran Gurung, and Area Rep Stanway, Mrs Laxmi Gurung.

On arrival, Mrs Masina Gurung (daughter-in-law of Mrs Sun Devi Gurung) kindly laid out refreshments and drinks. The Chair then spoke, remarking on how well and beautiful she looked, and expressed confidence that she had regained much of her strength following the mini-stroke. He wished her continued recovery and a long life of a hundred years, surrounded by the love of her son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter, and equally by her daughter, grandson and his wife.

The Chair then invited the Vice Chair, Mrs Kamala Khatri, to place a Rupa around her neck - symbolising the return of the soul lost during the mini-stroke - and to present a get-well-soon card, while Mrs Laxmi Gurung, Area Rep Stanway, presented her with flowers.

Following her mini-stroke, Mrs Sun Devi Gurung had visited the Muktinath Temple shortly before coming to the UK. She blessed us with sacred water from Muktinath, along with a Dhaja, a flower, and prasad, making our visit a deeply sacred occasion. For this, we offer our heartfelt thanks to Mrs Sun Devi Gurung.

What a remarkable recovery, made possible by the love, care, and dedication of her family. May she live for many more years to come. We left 17 Rye Close having witnessed a truly happy family together.

Mr Naina Sing Gurung warmly thanked us for our visit to his mother, which he felt had given her renewed confidence and encouragement towards a timely recovery.
