‘’Armed Forces Day - Saturday 29 June’’

The Armed Forces Day went well, despite attendance by only a handful of the veterans and their families, there were also few other families as well.

The following veterans were on parade.

I like to take this opportunity to thank those veterans who turned up yesterday, their families and other families, you have made our day.

I believe it was an excellent family outing, where we saw military activities including parachute jump, band of the Parachute Regiment performing, many children’s activities and most importantly March past by the British Legion Standards, the Veterans, Cadet Forces from the Army and RAF led by the band of the Parachute Regiment.

The Lord Lieutenant of Essex Mrs Jennifer Tolhurst took the salute and addressed the parade.

The day was rounded up by attacking an enemy position by a platoon of 2 PARA at 3.30pm. There were plenty of bangs and the arena was full of smoke.

Well done to everyone who came yesterday and represented the Veterans and you have made our day.
