‘’Dayarani - An Evening of Entertainment - Sunday 19 January 2020’’

Dayarani film show took place at 5pm on Sunday 19 January 2020 at TLA School to entertain CNS members. Despite slow response buying tickets initially, there was a good turnout on Sunday evening.

A total of 112 persons attended Dayarani, I must say it is a good turnout and I must thank those who turned up. I like to take this opportunity to thank Major Khusiman Gurung one of the co-producers and his wife travelling all the way from Wales with the film for Colchester Nepalese Society and our entertainment.

I must also thank Mrs Mina Gauchan, Hari Gauchan, Mrs Rupa Pun, Mr Umesh Pun, Mrs Babita Sewa for providing first class refreshment and drinks - the proceeds will be sent to Indreni in Kathmandu for them to help underprivileged people in Nepal. I must also thank the Area Reps for selling tickets and it is the hardest job for them to convince members and they have done a marvellous job - well done.

I must also thank the members for attending the film show and thank you for your support - as ever it is appreciated. I must also thank Deeya Pun the actress who has really done so well in her role as a Gurung Seni buhari, I am impressed and well done Deeya Chhori.

You have seen the account details from the Treasurer already. Well done Treasurer, you were the Star!!! Mina and Rupa have managed to collect £270 yesterday from refreshment and drinks, as I have written above, it will be sent to Indreni in Kathmandu for them to help underprivileged people in Nepal, with their generosity so far they have collected £500 over the two occasions - Well done Mina, Rupa and Babita - you were the Stars!!!

Overall it was a successful evening of entertainment for the members.

We now look forward to future events and they are:

Saturday 22 February Colchester Nepalese Society Dinner Night with Colchester Pipe Band playing in between meals.

Saturday 7 March 2020 - An Evening of entertainment with KAULI Budhi.

We have also introduced our new committee members - Arjun Sunuwar Secretary, Astha Sherchan Treasurer, Dhan Bahadur Bhujuwar Area Rep New Town, Milan Gurung and Babita Sewa Area Reps Gurdon Road. We have also congratulated the outgoing Treasurer for his excellent handover.
