Dear all,
What an excellent ‘’DOHORI SANJH’’ we had last Friday night? I believe we have achieved our aim with the help from everyone.
First and foremost we must give credit to the following:
Mina and Hari Gauchan for organising the singers Miss Khima Roka Magar and Mr Prasad Khaptari Magar for the evening including fetching them from Farnborough and London using their private car driven by their son and accommodating them at their resident. Providing mouthwatering refreshment and drinks for the evening and they have decided that the profit from refreshment and drinks should go to INDRENI in Kathmandu to help for their works for good causes. I must also thank Ladies Coordinator for providing samosa.
The Secretary must be congratulated for designing and providing tickets for the evening, without tickets we were unable to attract any members.
The Area Reps for selling tickets. We have surpassed our expectations.
Sanu Subba for taking the responsibility as Master of Ceremony (MC) for the evening and announcing in such an excellent manner and I am over the moon seeing her prowess in running the event.
The singers themselves - you were both true professionals and entertained our members so well for which I thank you both from the bottom of my heart. I must also thank Mr Udek Gurung for competing DOHORI with Khima Roka Magar. You have shown your ability in singing DOHORI songs.
The Culture Coordinators for organising banners and erecting on the wall and made the venue presentable. Helpers in running the event and you were all excellent in every way.
Finally the audience and without your attendance we were unable to organise the event for which I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
The collection and total amount spent in accordance with Asst Treasurer’s details are as shown below:
a. Tickets sold through Area Reps 89 tickets @ £10.00 = £890.00
b. Collection for singers = £725.00
c. Income made by Hari Gauchan by selling drinks and refreshment = £230.00
Total collected £1845.00
a. Presented to singers £1000.00
b. Presented to Khima Roka Magar for INDRENI in Kathmandu £230.00
c. Hall fee £150 and Extra Duty pay £10. = £160.00
d. Food and drinks for singers and Executives at Gurkha Britannia = £190.00
Total spent = £1580.00
Therefore total collected £1845.00- total spent £1580.00 = Balance of £265 has been deposited to CNS account by Asst Treasurer.
On completion of DOHORI SANJH, we then visited Gurkha Britannia Restaurant to say good bye to the singers by giving them some food and drinks accompanied by the Executives and Area Reps.
At Gurkha Britannia according to their tradition Mr Umesh Pun MVO and Mrs Dan Garbuja presented both Khima and Prasad an RGR pendant and khada each.
Having had food and drinks, we then departed to our destinations by just before mid-night.
I like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Umesh Pun MVO and Gurkha Britannia for their generosity and excellent recognition of singers.
Well done everyone for excellent programme and I am sure everyone enjoyed it.
