Dear Members,

You may know that our Vice-Chair Captain Rajendra Sherchan MBE had lost his dear mother a few months back in Nepal. He has spent most of last year in Nepal to look after his mother and after her passing to complete her rituals. Unfortunately, just over two months ago, Mrs Susma Sherchan, our Vice Chair’s wife, lost her father in Nepal. They were both in Nepal to complete her father's final rites and rituals and arrived in Colchester a few days ago.

Due to covid restrictions, we were unable to visit them at their residence to show our sympathy, solidarity, and condolences. Therefore, the CNS executives and area reps gathered together at 18:00 on Saturday 12 March to offer our heartiest condolences to Capt and Mrs Rajendra Sherchan. The delegation comprises of the following: (Chair, Advisor Umesh, Asst Ladies Coord Sanu, Mrs Mina Area Rep Gurdon Road, Mrs Jita and Mrs Usha Area Reps Highwood and Greenstead, Mrs Sangita Sunuwar Area Rep St Michaels, Mr Laxman Gurung Asst Treasurer and Hari Gauchan)

The chair spoke about the tragedies they had to bear, and it shouldn't have happened to anybody. The chair further said that it is human nature and recycling that we go through once we are born. Everyone has to go the same route; it is either now or tomorrow, which we are unaware of. With that in mind, the chair further said that the almighty god let them bear the suffering from the tragedies. The chair said their days would be better and look forward to a successful future in the UK, keeping their lost members' memories in their hearts.

Despite the hard time they were going through, Mrs Susma had provided drinks and excellent nibbles to the members of the Committee, for which I, on behalf of the Committee and CNS members, thank them.

We left them at peace and went to our residents at around 20:30.

I like to take this opportunity to thank the committee members for their time and attendance to offer sympathy, solidarity and condolences to Capt Rajendra Sherchan (the Vice-Chair) and Mrs Sherchan at their difficult time. May CNS help bring families together and continue to remain together and support the members at their sad and happy occasions in the years to come.

I am pleased to forward the photographs of the visit shortly.
