Dear all,

The culmination of the subject above was delivered by Shrabani Basu at the restaurant at Firstsite. Miss Basu completed her talk about what soldiers Ate during World Wars at 1.45pm. We were eagerly waiting for the visitors to come out to join us cooking in the field at Berrifield Lawn.

Once the visitors came out we have divided them into two groups (vegan group and meat group). We gave them short brief and vegan team were met by Vice Chair, Ladies Coordinator and Area Rep New Town Yashoda Shrestha, they have shown how to prepare food before cooking and vegan team imitated and cooking began.

Similarly meat team was met by Food Coordinators, the visitors were given a demonstration of chopping meat in sizes and the visitors imitated and finished chopping meat in no time.

Then meat cooking began again imitated by visitors.

We have managed to cook tiny portions of meat and vegan food for those visitors who were leaving soon and they were given a chance to taste the meat and vegan food. Everyone were very pleased with the tastiness of food and enjoyed.

The remaining vegan food and meat have been completed cooking at around 3.30pm and the visitors were asked to queue for food and everyone enjoyed food cooked in the field. The visitors were coming for second and third time as well because the food we collectovely cooked were so tasty.

The Visitors were given doggy bag each with full of food for them to eat tomorrow.

It was an excellent way to participate and being part of Raqs Media Collective’s artwork Not Yet At Ease. Not Yet At Ease is a co-commission between Firstsite and Raqs Media, the UK’s art programme for the First World War centenary. It explores the history of psychological disorders resulting from conflict and the stigmas attached to them.

What an excellent ending we have made to First World War centenary organised by Firstsite and Raqs Media. The programme would not have been so fascinating and successful without the hard work, dedication and commitment from the following individuals.

Vice Chair

Food Coordinators (Rubin and Hari)

Ladies Coordinator

Area Rep New Town (Yashoda Shrestha)

Area Rep Greenstead and Highwood (Jita Rai)

Area Rep Gurdon Road (Amar Limbu)

Very well done to everyone and am proud of you. Glimpses of the day during Raqs Media Collective’s artwork Not Yet At Ease are pictured below.

Dear Udai,

I'm writing to say a BIG thank you for the Nepalese Society's contribution to the event on Saturday. Not only were you and the group a joy to work with, the food was fantastic and the visitors had a brilliant experience. Thank you very much, it was wonderful to work with you.

Just to say with regards to the additional costs incurred, please can you send me an invoice for the outstanding amount (as you did for the £200) and also send over the receipt you showed me on Saturday.

Thanks again for being a part of such a fantastic event!

With best wishes,
