Dear CNS Pariwar,

Mrs Sunita Limbu Thebe and Mr Om Kumar Gurung offered a musical concert to Gurkha Home to entertain their members and members of Colchester Nepalese Society. On receiving the offer, the Chair (CNS) spoke with the Area Rep Gurkha Home, Mrs Jas Kumari Gurung and Captain Umesh Kumar Pun MVO about the feasibility of running the concert at Gurkha Home.

On receiving their agreement, he let the ball roll straight away and informed the members of CNS that the musical concert was taking place at Gurkha Home and invited everyone to join on Monday, 11 July at 6:30 pm.

On Monday, Mr Om Kumar Gurung set up his private PA system and microphones and was ready to roll by 6 pm. Mrs Sunita Limbu Thebe, wife of Major Kajiman Limbu, arrived just after 6.15 pm, and they did some rehearsals; the musical concert began at 7:15 pm.

Mrs Sunita Limbu Thebe sang such melodious songs with plenty of energy and vibe, which made everyone dance; her songs were suitable for the old and bold. Similarly, Mr Om Kumar Gurung also sang authentically with plenty of energy and vibe, making the audience keep listening. They also sang duet songs that were energetic, like to keep listening and dancing. The couple from Bangladesh, the new tenants in Gurkha Home, danced to their songs.

Overall it was an enjoyable concert for those who attended. There were three ladies from St Michael Area: Mrs Ram Rekha Rai, Mrs Sita Limbu and Mrs Limbu.

As Mrs Sunita Limbu Thebe is leaving us towards the end of July at the end of her husband's posting, I said a few words and gave them a khada each and wish them the very best of luck at their new posting at Tidworth and enjoyable time there.

To bid farewell to Mrs Sunita Limbu Thebe, her husband, Major Kajiman Limbu, Mrs Jas Kumari Gurung (Area Rep Gurkha Home), and her colleagues prepared home-cooked food. They were so tasty and mouth-watering, and everyone enjoyed them so well, for which I like to thank Mrs Jas Kumari Gurung and her colleagues. A very well done.

Having enjoyed the food, we left just after 9:30 pm to our residences.

Overall it was an enjoyable concert, appreciated by the residents of Gurkha Home and a few members from the St Michael Area.

Our appreciation goes to Mrs Sunita Limbu Thebe and Mr Om Kumar Gurung for such a marvellous time and for giving the members of the CNS such enjoyment.

A very well done!!!
