Dear Members,
It gave the CNS Executives a chance to courtesy visit two families yesterday. First, at 14:00, we called in Mr Ram Bahadur Gurung at Gurkha Home, who has had a few operations recently. It is our pleasure to report that he is doing well. All his ailments have gone, and he does not have to take any medications. It is excellent news. The Chair spoke about his recovery from ailments, and the CNS is pleased that he was on the mend. The Vice Chair, Ladies Coordinator and Area Rep Gurkha Home handed over the CNS hamper.
After some refreshments prepared by Mrs Ram, the CNS Executives left at 15:00 to congratulate Sabina Sherchan and Rajan Sherchan on the birth of their son at St Michael State.
We arrived at St Michael State at 15:15 and were met by Rajan Sherchan and Gaman Gauchan. We were given drinks and titbits. We were introduced to baby boy Rion Sherchan who was born on 26/12/2022. He is already a big boy for his age, and I am sure he will grow taller in his youth. The Chair spoke about the Executives remembering when we came to congratulate them when they got married, and it was a pleasure to come to congratulate them both on their son's birth. The Chair extended many happy congratulations, and the CNS is pleased to have another new generation in society. He wished them well and looked forward to seeing one more offspring in the next few years.
The Chair, Vice Chair, Ladies Coordinator, Cultural Coordinator and Sangita Sunuwar handed over the CNS hamper and khadas to the parents and grandparents and congratulated them.
It was a perfect visit to families; seeing them both so happy gave us a sense of happiness.
I also thank Area Rep Gurkha Home and Cultural Coordinator for buying hamper bags for the two families. The treasurer will be sent invoices shortly afterwards to settle them.
Many thanks
Udai B Gurung MBE
