The Colchester Nepali Society (CNS) Executive Committee paid a heartfelt home visit to Mrs Sita Limbu and her two sisters at their residence, 10 Willett Road, Colchester, at 3:30 PM. The purpose of the visit was to extend our collective condolences and blessings following the completion of the final death rituals of the late Subedar Major Ganga Bahadur Limbu (Sita's father-in-law), who passed away in July 2082 BS in Nepal. Due to various circumstances, the Committee had been unable to visit earlier, but the long-awaited moment of togetherness was significant for all present.

Upon our arrival, Mrs Sita Limbu warmly welcomed the delegation into her home. After light refreshments, the Chair addressed the gathering, offering kind and comforting words in memory of the late Subedar Major Ganga Bahadur Limbu, a highly respected figure who served with distinction in the Indian Army and rose to the esteemed rank of Subedar Major. The Chair reflected on his remarkable life, noting that reaching the age of 98 years is a rare and honourable milestone, a testament to a life well-lived and a legacy that should bring great pride and gratitude to his family.

Following the remarks, the Vice Chair presented a condolence card and a bouquet to Mrs Limbu and her sisters. The Ladies Coordinator then placed Rupa around their necks, symbolising the return of inner peace and spiritual balance following their loss.

The Ladies Group from the St. Michael area, led by Mrs Mandy Gurung, also shared their words of comfort. Mrs Gurung expressed that death is a universal path all must one day walk, but living to the age of 98 is a blessing that should be celebrated. She, together with Mrs Chitra placed Rupa and offered shawls, an envelope and drinks to Mrs Limbu as a token of sympathy and solidarity.

Representatives from the Kirat Yakthung Chumlung (KYC) Colchester Branch also attended to pay their respects. KYC Vice President Sanu Subba shared thoughtful remarks, recalling that the late Subedar Major was a man of high repute in his village and in Dharan. She reminded the family that his blessings will continue to guide them from the eternal realm. The KYC Vice Chair, Mrs Raj Kumari Limbu, and other members followed by presenting shawls and drinks as a gesture of support and goodwill.

In return, Mrs Sita Limbu expressed heartfelt gratitude to the CNS Executive Committee, the St. Michael Ladies Group, and the KYC Colchester Branch for visiting despite the rain and their busy schedules. She said their presence brought her and her sisters immense comfort and strength during a difficult time.

The CNS delegation included:

Mrs Mandy Gurung and her team led the Ladies Group (St. Michael Area). At the same time, the KYC Colchester Branch was represented by its Vice Chair, Mrs Raj Kumari Limbu, and accompanying members.
