Despite the gloomy and rainy weather, we had a safe and enjoyable journey to our destination, reaching on time. Our first stop was at the Gurkha Museum, offering a fantastic experience as we learned about the Gurkhas' history. Dressing in military uniforms was an absolute blast for the ladies, and purchasing souvenirs added to the memory. Next, we visited Sir Harold Hillier's Garden, established in 1953, featuring varieties of plants from worldwide. We shared delicious food during our lunch break under a hut in the garden, making it a memorable experience. Energised, we explored the gardens, enjoying the greenery and flowers. The ladies had a blast creating TikTok content and reminiscing about Nepali plants, bringing back fond memories for everyone.
Mrs. Kamal Maya Rai fell unwell during the journey, experiencing frequent vomiting and weakness. After she got home, she had to go to the accident and emergency unit at Colchester General Hospital and spent the night there before returning home early Sunday morning. However, she is now recovering well.
I thank Rubin Gurung for effectively communicating and updating the entire group throughout the journey. Gaman Gauchan played a crucial role in collecting money from everyone, and his efforts were appreciated. And Special thanks to Udek Gurung for entertaining the whole group with his dohori song and adding joy to the journey. We were grateful to the driver, Adam, for safely driving us to our destination. On behalf of the entire group, we presented him with a small amount of £50 to appreciate his hard work.
Finally, we thank Chairman Colchester Nepalese Society for making all this possible. Thank you.
