The CNS Executives visited Mr Ram Gurung Jr. on Sunday, 16 June, at his residence on Salamanca Way to offer their condolences and moral support following the loss of his parents. Mr. Gurung's mother passed away in January, and his father followed in April, leaving a profound void within a brief span of three months.

Despite their grief, the Gurung family takes solace in the remarkable longevity of Mr Gurung's parents—his mother lived to the age of 96, and his father nearly reached 100, passing away at 99.8 years. Their lives were a testament to resilience and vitality, which the Gurung family profoundly cherishes.

The Chair/Trustee of CNS echoed a sentiment shared by many during the visit, expressing a collective wish for such a long and fulfilling life. He remarked, "We, like our parents, are immortal in spirit, but we must accept the inevitable cycle of life and death."

The visit was organized by Mahesh Gurung, Area Representative of St. Michaels, and attended by a host of CNS Executives, including the Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Ladies Coordinator, cultural coordinator, Area Representative for Highwoods and Greenstead, and Area Representative for Gurkha Home. Their presence symbolized the strong sense of community and solidarity within the CNS.

During the visit, the Lady's Coordinator presented Mr and Mrs Ram Gurung Jr. with a traditional Rupa intended to bring back some of the souls believed to have departed with their parents. They offered a bottle of whisky, some fruits and juices, and a sympathy card alongside this meaningful gesture. These tokens of sympathy were accompanied by heartfelt conversations and shared memories, comforting the grieving family.

Mrs. Ram Gurung extended warm hospitality, serving refreshments to the visitors. The gathering lasted until around 8:30 pm and was a poignant reminder of the importance of community support during times of loss. As the CNS executives departed, they reminded Mr. and Mrs. Gurung to live happily with their children and grandchildren, embracing life with the same strength and vitality as their parents.

I, the Chair/Trustee of CNS, concluded the visit with the following words of encouragement: "Despite the tragedies, life must go on. We should strive to live as fully as his parents did, cherishing every moment with our loved ones."

The visit underscored the enduring bonds within the CNS community, offering strength and solace to the Gurung family during their time of mourning.
