It's heartwarming to learn about the Remembrance Sunday event organized by the Colchester Garrison on Sunday, 12 November 2023. This event serves as a poignant and respectful tribute to the fallen soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice during the wars.

The dedication of CNS members, particularly those from the Gurkha Home, in collecting funds for the Poppy Appeal demonstrates their commitment to honouring and remembering the veterans. The parade and ceremony at the War Memorial, with the recitation of the Exhortation and the playing of the Last Post, Two Minute Silence, and Reveille, are all powerful and moving ways to pay tribute to the fallen.

The participation of dignitaries, including the Lord Lieutenant of Essex, The Mayor, and the commander of the 16 Air Assault Brigade Combat Team, adds to the significance of the event. The delicious curry lunch provided by Shailendra Sherchan, Dambar Limbu, Chhatra Limbu, Jas Kumari Gurung, Masana Limbu, Singha Bahadur Limbu, Jit Bahadur Limbu, Capt Umesh Kumar Pun MVO, Asha KumariThakali, Man Devi Pun, Yal Kumari Pun, Chin Bahadur Pun, Durga Pun, Secretary and his two sisters, and their teams, along with the presence of honoured guests, is a lovely way to bring the community together and show appreciation.

The efforts to clean up and secure the facilities after the event, as well as the collaborative spirit displayed by all involved, are truly commendable. This Remembrance Sunday event, is a wonderful way to remember and honour the sacrifices of the fallen soldiers, and it's clear that a lot of hard work and dedication went into making it a success. Well done to all who contributed to this meaningful occasion.

Well done to everyone.
