The executive committee extended their heartfelt condolences to Samasti Tulachan on Sunday, 14 April, as she returned from Nepal, where she had been to be with her ailing mother. Samasti's journey to Nepal last October took a sorrowful turn upon her arrival at Kathmandu airport, where she received distressing news: her mother was in the ICU at Pokhara Hospital. With heavy luggage and a heavier heart, she rushed to the hospital to be by her mother's side, hoping for a recovery that sadly never came. After six agonising days, her beloved mother bid farewell to the world.
In solidarity and support, the executive committee members visited Samasti's residence. Led by the Chair, they gathered to offer condolences and encouragement. The Chair fondly reminisced about Samasti's mother, acknowledging her long and fulfilled life of 83 years, a blessing not all are fortunate enough to witness. Alongside the Chair, the Vice Chair, Secretary, Ladies Coordinator, assistant Ladies Coordinator, and Area Rep, Gurdon Road, stood in solidarity, offering solace to Samasti during her grief.
Amidst the sombre atmosphere, it was noted that Samasti's husband Buddhi, was undergoing eye surgery, adding another layer of concern to the already difficult situation. The committee expressed their sincere wishes for his swift recovery and hoped for his return to health soon.
Despite the occasion's solemnity, Samasti graciously provided refreshments, for which the committee expressed gratitude. As the visit drew close, the members bid farewells around 4:15 pm, concluding the program with a sense of shared empathy and support.
Samasti, be strong.
